HOW DO YOU GET IN THE MEMBER’S ALBUM?

If you have registered to be a Member, it means you can post in any chat at the Café Gray, and in any comment box under an article. However, it does not mean you will automatically appear in the Member’s Album. You have to put yourself there!

Finding the Member’s Album

Go to the homepage, and at the right column, just above Latest & Greatest, you will see that it says Members login/register.

If you are a Member, you’re already registered, but click login. Yes, even if you think you are already logged in.

Fill in what it asks, and then the homepage will return. You will NOW see Members Your Account/logout/Members Album.

Click on Your Account. You will come to your own Control Panel. On the Menu at the left, you’ll see a variety of choices.

If you click on Edit Profile, you will be able to write a brief bio about yourself. Every Member can view this Bio, by going to the Member’s List and clicking on your name.

However, without a picture, you will not appear in the Member’s Album. So click on Edit Photo next. You will be able to upload a photo from your desktop or photo application. The photo can only be 100 px x 100 px. If it is not sized, the system will reject it.

Once you do submit a picture, you will appear in the Member’s Album, along with any Bio information you have supplied.

Your Control Panel Allows You to Do...

Private Messaging (PM’s) Click on the plus sign to open that, then you can check off compose, or check your inbox, etc. If you click compose, the PM screen will come up, and you can write your note. Be sure to put in a subject line, or it won't send. To address the note, you have to know the screen name of the person you want to PM.

The advantage to being in the Member’s Album is that people can just click on the link beside your picture to go to your Profile Page and send you a PM.

Control your Email Settings If you do not wish to receive notifications of postings, or any other form of email from GGLG, you can un-check or check the boxes that apply. This is the only permanent way to do this.

HOW DO YOU FIND A MEMBER WHO IS NOT IN THE MEMBER’S ALBUM?

  1. First, go to your Control Panel. (Same way -- from the homepage, under Members, click Your Account.)
  2. When you get to your Control Panel, you'll see your name in BOLDFACE at the top. Where it says "Logged in as Your Name"
  3. Click on your boldface name.
  4. Your Personal Profile Page appears.
  5. Look up at the top bar -- that's your name. Look just below on the lighter lilac bar -- you'll see:
    Going Gray Looking Great! > Member List> Your name
  6. Click on Member List
  7. The entire Membership roster appears.
  8. Scroll down to the bottom of that page. You can arrange how you view the members. Tip: search by Alphabetical Order/Ascending, then hit submit.
  9. Now you can just scroll to find the Member you're looking for, A-Z.
  10. Click on the Members name, and up comes her Personal Profile page. That's where you can select either PM or Email. Note: No email addresses are ever visible. However, once you send a Member an email, she will have your address. If she responds, you will have hers. If you do not wish to reveal your email address, send a PM. The Member will be notified that she has a PM waiting for her, unless she has opted out of all notifications.
