Spring Fashion Colors for Gray Hair

Lots of new fashion shades to play with for Spring/Summer '09, and like last year, they’re bold. But there’s a different “twist” to them, like they’ve been dipped in another shade from the same family. And they look newer in the mixing. One warning, do NOT mix a palette of pales (beige/platinum/cream) – it’s too deadly for us.

Think COLOR only as you look through these clothes – not whether you would wear them, or have a place to wear them. Then imagine how you can incorporate these shades into your own wardrobe, whether it’s just a tank top or a major new purchase.

Here are some fresh ways to get out of your color rut...

Instead of Khaki.....Go Kicky!

Why settle for blah beige when you can kick it up a notch?

Instead of Red....Go Raspberry!

Berry shades are ripe for the picking this summer.

Instead of Lavender....Go UltraViolet!

Subtle is sweet, hot is hot.

Instead of Black....Go Bold!

Ditch the drabs, and get the fabs. Add one spark of color somewhere.

Instead of Gray...Go Silver!

Grab some reflectivity and shine in the sun. If you can add just one metallic, do!

Instead of Turq...Go Teal!

A drop deeper, a lot more unique.

NEWEST SHADES FOR SUMMER

Good news about blue! With so many tints and tones of it this season, there’s one that’s going to give your silvers just the zing they need. The hues look just a little bit different, too – they’re definitely NOT last summer’s blues. Even more fun -- mixing them up is the newest thing to do. Watch for cobalt to make a BIG return. And don’t be surprised to find lemon-lime, celery and eggplant in your summer color garden, too!

The BIG Blue

This is the newest hue in town. Blue with a drop of lavender is great for grays.

The Strongest Contender: Cobalt

Great alone, super in the mixing. Call it your summer "base."

The Blue Mix

Think aqua with cobalt, sea blue with teal, and you’ve got it.

The Vegetable Garden

Cool shades of citrus, celery, even eggplant add drama to summer color.
