Christie - thanks for sharing your story with us. You have such a wonderful family. By the way, I think you look beautiful! It’s fun to see your natural colors in the longer length.

With so many women now choosing to go natural in their ‘30s and early ‘40s, it’s bound to happen. So the question is – can you be preggers and gray? Expectant silvers naturally have a few qualms. “Will people look at me funny when I’m carrying?” “When my baby is born, will people think I’m its grandmother?”
On the other hand, many are happy to give up chemical dyes, and the hassle of root retouching during this exciting and nurturing time.
We’re going to follow Christie S., our gal from Australia, as she goes through her pregnancy to prove one thing: YES, you can be pregnant and gray, and carry the whole thing off beautifully!
11 weeks. Just a bit of a bump.
Christie’s barely starting to “show.” She writes: “I have enough of a pot belly not to be able to get any of my normal pants up. I'm still in the extreme tiredness stage, but my morning (all day) sickness has now relegated itself to just evening sickness - I can live with that!”
This shot was snapped during the Christmas season, the first time she had seen her sister since her decision to go gray. Christie’s sister is five years older than she is and had thought she was crazy to go natural, didn't think it would look good at all. “Halfway through my visit she said to my Mum, ‘Doesn't Christie's hair look great?’ Within my earshot so that I could enjoy the compliment too, and my Mum agreed. So that seal of approval was lovely. No comments regarding my pregnancy except that I am crazy going for number 4!!!”
Ed. comment: You can’t win. You’re either crazy for going natural, or crazy for getting pregnant!
15 weeks - and getting that glow going!
Christie had her first ultrasound scan two weeks ago, and they met “Bubs.” Because of the size of the baby, they put her dates forward. She may be sixteen weeks along, but Christie is sticking with her timing. She’s feeling a lot better now, and has recently been exploring caves, rivers and beaches in Gippsland -- out in 111º F sun! Exhaustion still setting in at the end of the day. Hair comments – 0. Except for her sister, who loves what Christie calls her “grown out pixie” style. She’s looking prettier than ever!
19 weeks. Two-year old son Lincoln says Hi to his new baby sister? Brother?
Christie went for her second ultrasound last week, and now knows the baby’s sex. But she’s not telling! Except to say they are very happy (but would have been either way.) She’s had a few days of “ugly, pregnant feelings,” wishing that she had long, flowing blonde hair or something equally feminine and attractive. Her husband, who meant well, said she was “giving all her beauty to the baby.” Hmmmm, is that a clue? Or clueless??
Well, he tried, all the while her tears were flowing. She’s now working out in aqua aerobics, with most of the women over 65, and says she fits right in! Gee, Christie, just because you share the same hair color. . .! On the hair front, nobody seems to notice that Christie is a silver-haired pregnant lady. Well, that’s a good thing. And her sister told her she’s very happy that she doesn’t have to “pretend” to like the color – she really does!
Waiting patiently. Mathew, Lincoln (age 2), Oliver (age 5) and Mia (age 4) join Christie in welcoming a new member of the family.
26 weeks. Christie rocks, and baby's rollin'!
Christie got a new cut! She loves the bob, and the comments. Her hairdresser thought she had just had highlights, and a friend told her she doesn’t really think “gray” when she sees it, loving the color for itself. Well, that’s what we’ve always said. Gray is a color! On the health front, Christie reports that tiredness, varicose veins and reflux still plague her. She had a small bleed, so they did a third scan last week to make sure all was okay. The good news is, she was assured the baby is a “picture of health” and growing well. So Christie is trying to put her “niggles” aside and concentrate on producing a healthy “bub.” She’s getting a lot of movement, kicks and belly rolls. The other night, she awoke to find her husband’s hand on her belly. Apparently the baby kicked him in the back and woke him up! He doesn’t see how she can sleep through this! Christie also went for a Glucose test for gestational diabetes. No results yet, but she promises to keep us posted. Hang in there, Christie, and get lots of rest.
31 weeks. "Suddenly pregnant."
Christie's popping for sure, and people are asking her if that baby was there two weeks ago! Now, there's no hiding Bub with only weeks to go. Christie's excited about moving into single digits for the countdown! Here, she's on a trip to the mountains, playing in the snow with her kids, although promising to take extra care and not overdo. Her back's been giving her some problems. But she's all systems go, and we'll countdown with her! What do you think, everyone? For all you who can "tell" how she's carrying, girl or boy?
37 weeks. A beautiful family portrait.
Christie's been a little busy for updates, but this lovely shot with Mat may be the last we'll see of Bubs-in-Mum, because she's at 3 days and counting!! And she says she's feeling "very ready." All of our thoughts will be with you, Christie, on the big day, so just imagine thousands of GGLGers telling you to "push!" Well, on second thought. . . Christie says she's had absolutely no negative reactions to the color of her hair throughout her entire pregnancy. In fact, as we all know, she was even hired as a model! She says she's only had support and acceptance. So all you future gray mamas out there, not to worry!
It's a boy!
This just in! Christie gave birth this morning, July 23rd at 1:40 AM! Roman weighed in at 9 pounds, 11 ounces. Christie says she is doing well, and "he is great!" And she's already home from the hospital! Congrats, Christie! We're all thrilled for you!
Is that a Mohawk?
Our first Roman update! Christie says they're getting lovely smiles and the odd giggle from Roman, and he's actually let her sleep the night through (twice!). While Roman's hair is very healthy indeed, Christie is suffering from post-pregnancy hair loss. Hmmmmm, wonder who she gave her hair to? She's combating that with a choppy fringe/bangs, and is contemplating a shorter cut once her hair grows back in. Mother and son look great!
Christie - thanks for sharing your story with us. You have such a wonderful family. By the way, I think you look beautiful! It’s fun to see your natural colors in the longer length.

You are glowing and you look amazing! I love the way your hair looks at all of the stages shown here and the color is so soft and lovely!! I am going through grow-out trauma right now and your pics give me hope that all will turn out just fine ... I tell you, there are days!!!
I think it’s awesome that you are the picture of health and beauty with silver hair and baby bump!
Great idea Diana!
Posted by on 03/30 at 03:59 PM
Christi-you look RADIANT! Your growth is so lovely! I am so glad your pregnancy is going well! I have to admit, I have a little twing of “baby fever” every now and then...but now that I’m a G-Ma...I’d better just keep those thoughts to myself!!
I hope you sail right on through the rest of your pregnancy very smoothly. Just send any ankle swelling or all night bathroom trips my way...I suffer from them anyway!!

Wow thank you so much, I just got home from aqua aerobics to find these wonderful comments, especially regarding my family, we are so proud of them all.
But I have to admit something....I’m completely glamored up in every photo!! I’m so glad you can’t all see me now in my track pants and no make up AND swimming pool hair to boot!
Dede no swelling yet, but I’ve got some reflux I wouldn’t mind sharing, although I think with your swelling and loo trips I’ll let you be!
Posted by on 03/30 at 05:55 PM
Christie your hair looks lovely, and you seem to be one of those fortunate women who glows during pregnancy.
Posted by on 03/31 at 01:26 AM
Chrisite, You look so beautiful! Congratulations on baby #4!!
I got my first peek at my gray while pregnant with my 2nd child. I was wearing my hair short and did not color for the first three months for the sake of the baby. Wow was I surprised at what I saw! I thought about transitioning then, but found it very hard to transition while being pregnant. Too many emotions at once for me. My daughter is now almost 8 months old. How time flies by! Best of luck!
Posted by on 03/31 at 09:33 AM
Christie--"Glamored up” or not, you are a beautiful mother-to-be. What a sweet-looking little family you have (’Little’ is relative. Some of the GGLG sisters have huge families). I read online that either a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or baking soda in a glass of water helps with reflux. I don’t suppose you’re allowed to take Zantac. I tried both home remedies last night. My heratburn went away but it’s back again this afternoon. I’m pulling out the heavy duty drugs tonight. P.S. I’m not pregnant!
Posted by on 03/31 at 11:14 AM
Christie, congratulations on so many levels. Lovely that you could share your story. Best of luck with the new baby. You make a beautiful silver Mom!
Posted by on 03/31 at 12:19 PM
Christie you do have a beautiful little family and they are lucky to have you! Your hair is transitioning beautifully! Hope your pregnancy continues in a healthy way and can’t wait to see the new baby pictures. Do you think you’ll be fully transitioned by the birth? Your hair is growing out so well, you almost look done now!
Posted by on 03/31 at 12:42 PM
Hi Erinfein, I wish I had thought not to dye during my pregnancies, this baby is the only lucky one not to be subjected to the dye!
Sandpinkshimmer, I did read somewhere that apple cider vinegar was a good cure, and I tried it recently and thought that it had worked. Now that I have googled it after your comment I see that it is really meant to be a Wonder Cure for acid reflux, so thanks for putting me back on to it! I found a great site which gives the dosages recommended if you are interested (I’m all for drug free cures!):
http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/acvinegar.html
Thank you all once again for your generous compliments!

Christie, I just wanted to add my congratulations. Thank you for sharing your story. What a lovely family you have, and you look stunning. I look forward to your updates!

Hi Christie-
Tums (R)- calcium carbonate tabs are safe in pregnancy to use for that occasional gi upset...I’m sure you know since this one isn’t your first: other things helpful are using pillows to raise your head at night; avoiding eating right before bedtime; taking prenatal vitamins in the mornng WITH FOOD; those things are so stomach upsetting; ginger ale and crackers also are a good thing. Generally wise to stay away from over the counter/prescription meds especially in the first two trimesters....figured I’d toss in my pharmacist 2 cents (or euros?)..what the heck money do you all use anyway???? haha (sorry to be so stupid..I should know this!!!)
all the best,
Helen

Hi Christie,
You really look good, pregnant & gray, and that’s hard to pull off!
Congrats to you & your family!!
Posted by on 04/01 at 03:48 PM
SB Karen, I consider myself fully transitioned, just like a lot of women on this site though, I’m re growing my hair, so it’s kind of an ongoing process. Thanks for your kind words.
Thanks Helen for your 2 cents worth (we use dollars and cents too), I appreciate all your suggestions - I’m willing to do anything I can to alleviate the reflux. I’ve even cut out tea and coffee which has been really hard!!
I have to say, I am glowing...every time I come on here and read your supportive comments! I’ll turn to you guys next time I need a pick me and leave my poor husband alone...he’s not so good with the compliments!!
Cheers all, Christie

Hi Christie
You look lovely, your hair colour looks perfect, you look serene and elegant (yes even in the trackpants which we didn’t see) Congratulations!
Posted by on 04/02 at 01:21 AM
Many Blessings to you Christie!
You look radiant and youthful! I did the same silver and pregnant dance! No one ever asked if I were the “grandma” after our son was born(my biggest fear)! You can’t hide the youthfullness of your face! Not that silver = old! No Way!
You look amazing...congrats! I look forward to hearing/seeing the updates. My “baby” turns 3 next week, my how time flies by! Enjoy and embrace every moment;-)
Posted by on 04/07 at 12:34 PM
You are truly radiant, Christie! Enjoy your time waiting…
I dont know much about reflux, just nausea and Maybe its just the tea themed GGLG meeting on my mind, but dont forget about herbal teas...peppermint, raspberry leaf, good stuff for expecting mamas..and its a warm cup to hold onto.

Congratulations to you Sheri, enjoy your time nursing with your little fella, it’s such a special time
I’m looking forward to it again.
Thanks for your blessings, Elizabeth, there’d be no mistaking you for grandma, no way, no how!
Thanks also to you, Silverlake and Ruth, your comments are greatly appreciated, and funnily enough, I have been sipping on peppermint tea lately!
Happy Easter to you, I hope it’s a special time with your families.

Christie- You look so great! (hair and “baby figure") My older sis thought I was crazy to go back to gray too. She continues to harbor a hope that I will go back to coloring. I told her the “dye boat” has set sail, never to dock again!! I so admire a woman like you who can keep her figure while pregnant and keep her great silver hair!! My new hero!!
Posted by on 04/16 at 08:18 AM
so..monthly pictures do you think? Is your hair growing wicked fast being pregnant? Mine felt like I could feel it growing...(it’s been 13+ years now...DONE!) I have three- four is perfect too! (I guess any number is good..I used to say “as long as they’re healthy” when asked if I hoped for a boy or girl… then thought that I couldn’t even say that...we love our little ones no matter what!)
hope you’re well-
Helen
Posted by on 04/19 at 06:45 PM
Thanks Jane, Sandy, Goldie and Helen
I dunno Goldie, I’ve got some mean love handles going on...I may not be able to hide them in the next photo update!
Helen I definitely have to get my next update in as I have just had the most fantastic haircut - a chin length bob (bit like yours - although yours has probably grown since then!)
I will work on getting a good pic in the next couple of days!
Posted by on 04/19 at 08:14 PM
ohh yea!!! a fun haircut!!!let’s see!!! hope you are feeling well!!
Posted by on 04/20 at 05:23 AM
Love the cut Christie!! Hang in there!!
Posted by on 04/20 at 06:57 AM
Christie! Boy, do you look awesome! I just love your new cut! You are really proving that gray is the new blonde! It does look like you have highlights. That’s what some have said to me, although mine is a darker base with highlights!
Oh, the dreaded glucose test!!! I had to do that my first two pregnancies and it’s not much fun! Both time the test came back fine and I hope it does for you also! Take care!
Posted by on 04/20 at 07:18 AM
Christie, you are growing so well, hair and belly. You are a most beautiful Mom! These pictures take me back many years. I really loved being pregnant, veins, pains and all. Try to enjoy every moment of this miraculous time and keep the pictures coming.
Posted by on 04/20 at 07:27 AM
Love your cut Christie. Isn’t it great that you have fabulous colour AND don’t have to worry about roots?! You look like a very chic mom-to-be.
Posted by on 04/20 at 08:49 AM
Nice bob! Tres chic!
Posted by on 04/20 at 10:35 AM
That cut looks phenomenal on you...very “put together”
Posted by on 04/20 at 10:41 AM
Great bob, Christie, and such a pretty color. Don’t you love the “highlights” remarks?! I enjoy your fun Australian words for things. Thanks for an update! Keep them coming.
Posted by on 04/20 at 10:44 AM
Hi Christie,
It’s been a while since I checked in on the site and loved seeing this section. You truly look radiant and you have such a beautiful family. Lucky baby-on-the-way! It must be better this time around in the sense that you don’t have to feel guilty or give any thought at all to colouring your hair while pregnant. Looking forward to seeing more pics. And your bob looks so great and I bet it’s a breeze to care for--another bonus!
Posted by on 04/20 at 11:14 AM
Wow that update went up so quickly, you are amazing Diana!
Thanks everyone for your compliments, the cut does feel very chic, I might start feeling like one of those “put together” pregnant ladies that I’m always admiring!
Glad to see you are still checking in Lisa, thanks :D
Posted by on 04/20 at 04:08 PM
love the new cut! you look lovely!!!
Posted by on 04/20 at 04:53 PM
Christie- You look fantastic! Your little one is going to have a great time hearing all these posts when he/she gets old enough! We’ll all feel like he/she is a little GGLG mascot! (Maybe a wee, little t-shirt with the GGLG logo on it is in order?)
Posted by on 04/20 at 06:03 PM
chic very chic!!!

Adorable Christie, simply adorable. I love the how the color is really showing up and it’s so unique.

Posted by on 04/27 at 05:49 PM
haha a GGLG mascot, how cute!
The baby is doing well, so wriggly, it’s very reassuring.
I got my glucose test results and they were good, so it’s smooth sailing at the moment.

Christie, your 26 week photo is stunning!
Natural and pregnant, how utterly beautiful.

Hi Jane, thanks so much!
Awww thanks Karen! I’m doing well, update coming soon (should be in your inbox, Diana
)
Posted by on 05/19 at 03:40 AM
It’s out of my inbox, and up here! Come see Christie’s new pic, everybody!
Posted by on 05/19 at 04:00 AM
Christie - Oh! You look so cute! (Course, I remember being that close and not feeling cute...but still - YOU LOOK SO CUTE!) I’m not going to guess if you’re carrying a girl or a boy. I just KNEW my first was a boy. We had a girl. Then I was positively CERTAIN my second was a girl. Nope. A boy. :o) But my very best wishes to you as you near delivery - for a strong, healthy, happy baby - whether boy or girl!
Posted by on 05/19 at 04:44 AM
What’s that snow doing on the ground???? Oh that’s right, you are entering your winter, aren’t you? I never looked that ‘cute’ when I was pregnant, I was just always round as a beach ball - but not just my stomach - all over!!!
31 weeks? Nine to go! Countdown!!!
Posted by on 05/19 at 01:17 PM
I had 5 boys before we had our 1st girl! At about boy #4, I gave up guessing & got out the “blue stuff” again! (hee, hee)
Christie, you look great! (Love the hat!) Won’t it be fun to sleep on your back again & be able to BREATHE?!
Posted by on 05/19 at 01:37 PM
Hi Greeneyes, Karen and Goldie, thanks for the “cute” comments! I can’t wait to sleep on my back again and do numerous other things that are either impossible or taboo, so I’m definitely on top of the countdown. I think I will start sipping raspberry leaf tea soon, whether it works or not - I’ve done it every time so far. As soon as my Mum arrives (she’s coming down to help me) I will engage all the other “bring on the baby” myths, wives tales and theories that I can think of....feel free to suggest some!!
Cheers!
Posted by on 05/19 at 10:11 PM
Ahh...raspberry leaf tea. Yup, let me assure you Christie, I have drank my share of the pre-birth tea! I really do like it. When I had summer babies, it was iced. When I had winter babies, it was hot! Either way you drink it, it’s good stuff! And what we we do without our mums helping with the rest of the crew?! I always loved the excitement just before the baby arrives. Like getting ready to open the best present ever, that’s been sitting right in front of you for nine months! (Oh, wait, it has been in FRONT of you for nine months! hee, hee)
Posted by on 05/20 at 05:57 AM
The only thing that helped me bring on labor was walking. When the due date arrived for my 2nd we went on a very long walk (nearly 3 miles - ON my due date). Came back, laid in bed, and 30 minutes later I was in labor. First was 5 weeks early, but they really don’t know why. She was just small, but OK. I went to work the day I had her, but heck, I still have 5 weeks to go! Who would’ve thought!
Posted by on 05/20 at 01:28 PM
Whew! SBKaren, I’m impressed! My walking at that point was really more like a waddle! My babies took their own, sweet time! The raspberry leaf tea is just for “toning” the womb for birth. It won’t bring on labor.
Posted by on 05/20 at 03:15 PM
ahhh heck when my 3rd was born ...my other 2 were in between chicken pox...no fun at all...in fact my other son came to see me in the hospital scabs and all!!!
there are days that i could freeze and live again just for a bit...THAT is NOT one of them!!!
good luck christie… i too walked and walked...in fact we walked the zoo...the la zoo is in griffith park and it is quite hilly ...we spent lots of time looking at the monkeys and of course the seals…
Posted by on 05/20 at 03:25 PM
how are you feeling ???? just checking in…
Posted by on 06/19 at 05:41 AM
Thanks for checking on me Louann! Things are going well, I’m 35 weeks now, and feeling great! We just added a dog to the family (a beautiful, 7yr old Shetland Sheepdog) so she has been inspiring me to go on more walks - though she’s so petite that I can actually “waddle” faster than she walks!
Posted by on 06/20 at 02:13 PM
Hi Christie, Sending good wishes and prayers for a safe, EASY delivery...You look beautiful… all the best, Helen
(so will those pics go in HappyDayz or here, Oz?
or maybe both?)
Posted by on 06/22 at 04:01 AM
Thanks Helen! Loved seeing you in the NY story!
Well here’s something that I NEVER thought would happen, I’ve been asked to model maternity clothing for a local store here in town. So this Friday I have a “photo shoot” and the photos are going to be put on canvas and hung throughout the store. Should be fun, I’ve never done anything like it before, what a laugh!
Posted by on 06/22 at 04:25 PM
That’s terrific, Christie! See? Nothing stands in the way of a “gray mama!” You’ve got to send us those pics!
Hope all is continuing to go smoothly for you. And we’re all counting the days!
Posted by on 06/22 at 04:30 PM
Oh, Christie, how delightful!! Heee...you get to be a “stagemom” manager & a model...all rolled into one!
Please send in pictures (hanging them in canvas around the store..what a lovely idea!)
You look so beautiful & fit. If I had been asked when I was as far along as you, it would have taken a whole WALL just for my pregnant stomach! hee,hee
Posted by on 06/22 at 05:39 PM
Thanks Christie! wow, now I can be starstruck with yet another model! send in the pics! That is SO cool!!
can’t wait to see them! (no pressure..haha!)
all the best, Helen

Christie~ How cool! Hope you are feeling well in this heat. MY DDIL is 35 1/2 weeks along and miserable. She is ready to be done. She is a correctional officer in a women’s penitentiary and there isn’t any air conditioning. Hope you are able to keep cool. Good luck with the photo shoot and the birth of your baby. Looking forward to seeing your lovely photos if you choose to share them.
Posted by on 06/23 at 05:04 AM
Christie...How exciting! Have fun at the photoshoot. I wonder if they will let you keep the clothes? It would be really great if they did - even if you don’t have that much more time left to wear them! You have a beautiful family. Wishing you a safe and easy delivery. Can’t wait to see photos of the new baby.

That is great news Christie. Here’s to us silver sisters infiltrated the modeling world!
Posted by on 06/23 at 06:33 AM
Thanks for all your support! I agree Lookingrayt, I’d love to keep the clothes, but they are giving me a canvas to keep instead - it’s a shame as I already have a friend doing belly photos, but like you said, I probably wouldn’t get to wear the clothes for much longer anyway.
Had to laugh, Aziza, when I read your comment, I’d just come back from walking the kids to the bus stop on a chilly 3 degrees celsius morning (about 37 F). We are having quite a cold winter here in Oz. I feel for your DDIL though, my other babies were Summer babies, and I definitely suffered in the heat! She’s doing well to still be working at this stage of her pregnancy.
Take care all, I’ll let you know how it goes!
Posted by on 06/24 at 01:41 AM
Christie, how are you doing???? Aziza and I have been talking “babies” (grand babies that is) and it made me think of you!
You must be getting close!
Posted by on 07/01 at 02:59 PM
So close..Lulubell...3 weeks until my due date - 22nd July, but my Mum arrives tomorrow and the baby is considered full term now, so anytime after tomorrow is fine by me. Not that I am desperate to evict this little one, I’ve got lots of energy and I’m feeling great (nesting like crazy - have even planned bedroom cupboard renovations - though he’d better hurry up with the quote!)
I had my glam photo shoot last week, it was really quite nerve racking and very hard to keep the smile up (I remembered reading in the NY Luncheon story about holding your tongue up to your palette, not sure I was doing it right, but I gave it a go!)
One of the maternity outfits was a glamorous, silver dress, I think my 4 year old daughter thought I was a princess, she couldn’t stop gushing over it. I’m hoping he will send me the photos soon...you know, vanity and all, I can’t wait to see them and I will ask his permission to put one up on this site, as my week 36 update!
Thanks for thinking of me Lulubell,
Cheers, Christie

Hello Christie, I am so excited for you!! Thanks so much for the reply, I appreciate it! I REALLY hope you will be able to send in one of your photos from the “glam shoot” for us to see, perhaps the one with the silver “Princess” dress. Please stay happy, energetic and healthy!! I will keep checking here daily for updates!

Hi Christie~ 2+ weeks to go! Hope you are feeling well. So glad your Mum is able to be with you during this exciting time. Is she staying until the baby arrives? How long after will she be there? How’s the nesting coming along? My DDIL hasn’t started her nesting just yet but she’s physically ready to be holding that baby in her arms.
She’s due the week after you. Looking forward to your updates! Sending good thoughts your way!

thinking of you today and thought I’d send a note wishing you a fast, safe birth.... the last month always seemed to be about 90 days long to me…
hoping you’re feeling well~ prayers and a hug, Helen
Posted by on 07/14 at 04:16 AM
Hello Lulubell, Aziza and Helen! I apologise for not replying sooner - I absolutely cannot keep up with this site anymore! New photos everywhere and chats that I’d love to jump in on, but it’s very hard finding the time.
I’m still hanging onto bubs, I’m due in less than a week now and Mum is here helping me and keeping me company. I think she will stay for a couple of weeks after bubs is born to help out. Talk about nesting, Aziza! I have crazily started to renovate our bedroom...the one the baby will be sleeping in! Currently the cupboards have been ripped out and we are waiting for the cabinet maker to install a new unit with sliding doors. The room is a mess as everything that was in that cupboard has now had to find temporary accommodation (on floors, under beds, in corners). So I haven’t even set the cot up in there yet.
The photographer has not sent me any photos yet, so I haven’t got an update for you, my friend did a lovely shoot of my husband and I at the 37/38 week mark, and she is going to send me one to post here...hopefully soon!
Thanks for all your thoughts, this last bit is kind of dragging, but I know how quickly they grow, so I’m trying my best to be patient!
Take care,
Christie

Wow, Christie! Sounds like you ARE nesting.
Quite literally. Hope your feathered nest is back in place by the time bubs makes an appearance. We are in for a couple of cooler days here so my DDIL is appreciating that. She’s having some major carpal tunnel problems with her pregnancy. The DR says it will go away about 2 weeks after she delivers. Her last day of work is her due date, July 31st. So, not too much longer for either of you. Hope you are feeling well and everything goes quickly once the time is “here”. Sending good thoughts your way!

Thanks for the well wishes Barbara, Deb, Leeja, Jane and Ms M! I must send in a photo of my little man 5 weeks old now and doing fantastic
Posted by on 08/30 at 08:19 PM
Christie, your little Roman is absolutely adorable!! His hair is so long and dark! What a little “gem” he is for letting you sleep through the night a “whole” two times!!
Your hair will be back to normal soon, my daughter went through the same thing after her little guy was born (he is 10 months old) and now all is well with her hair.
Of course she just found out that she is expecting again so now her hair will really thicken up!
By the way, your silver hair is just lovely!
Posted by on 10/12 at 08:18 AM
Hiya Lulubell, thanks! I just wanted to say congratulations to you expecting another little grandson/daughter!
Posted by on 10/12 at 12:26 PM
You’re Welcome Christie! It came as quite the surpise let me tell you
but a wonderful surprise for sure! They have just bought a new, “bigger” house! It will be a lot of work, but that’s why God created Grammas!
Posted by on 10/12 at 12:34 PM
They are very lucky to have you!
We need to do the bigger house thing too, but we always said the next time we bought we would move further south. The problem is I love where we are living currently, so I am quietly tolerating our smaller space!
Posted by on 10/12 at 12:57 PM
Christie, I have always been able to make a cozy little nest out of the smallest of spaces. If you love where you live then the smaller space will just give you all the more reason to cuddle up and hug your hubby and the little ones even more!
Posted by on 10/12 at 01:21 PM
Christie~ You look fantastic. Love your hair. And little Roman is just adorable. What a lovely shock of hair he has. My little Owen lost most of his hair and it’s just starting to come in but it’s very light in color. His Daddy did the same thing when he was a baby so I’m not at all surprised.
Posted by on 10/13 at 07:12 AM
Y’all both look great Christie. Love the hair...both of yours!
Posted by on 10/13 at 07:46 PM
Thanks Aziza and Leej. Owen’s lost his hair already! Mine don’t lose their hair, they just grow more (as you can see!)
How’s your transitioning going Leej?
You’re right Lulubell, and we are a happy (somewhat noisy) family in our little home, maybe I just need a good pair of earplugs!
Posted by on 10/14 at 01:44 AM
ahhh what a cutie pie mr roman is! and of course you look great! thanks for the updte you know how we love pics!
Posted by on 10/14 at 04:49 AM
Christie- What a baby doll that little Roman is!! Those are some “pinchable” cheeks he has! And you are looking as lovely as ever!
Regarding your happy but noisy brood....I hear ya”! And we have a large house!! Heee…
Posted by on 10/14 at 06:04 AM
Christi, you and sweet Roman are the picture of health and happiness! Thanks so much for the update! Hang in there with the hair loss...you’re looking fabulous anyway!
~dede
Posted by on 10/14 at 07:33 AM
Hi Louann, thanks, I hope you are well
Hey Goldie, thanks, I know you understand, I guess the size of the house doesn’t matter. When I think about it, it doesn’t matter what room I’m in, that’s where the kids want to be, so there’d be no escaping it anyway!
Thanks Dede, we are feeling healthy and really on top of things, although my little girl has started throwing up today, so finger’s crossed it’s not a gastro bug, as they usually tear through the whole family!
Posted by on 10/15 at 05:01 PM
Christie ... both you and your little cutie look splendid! Great hair x 2!! Hope everyone is well!
Posted by on 10/18 at 09:03 PM
Thanks Grayincali, hope you are well too, our gastro bug has moved onto its second victim, but apart from that we are in good spirits!
Posted by on 10/19 at 08:47 PM
Thanks so much Sheri, I’m with you, I don’t want to chop off his glorious mane. Luckily my hubby agrees too, so I’m gonna hold out for as long as I can.
Posted by on 10/20 at 12:18 AM
Christie .... hope everyone is well. I just had my 3 year old at the pediatrician yesterday. Kept thinking his low-grade fever and cough would pass. Turns out he has a rather “impressive” as the doctor called it, double ear infection! We have been so sick in my household for the past month. I hope this is the end and that we will be on the upswing! Sending healthy thoughts your way!
Posted by on 10/24 at 11:55 AM
Sorry grayincali! We’ll send healthy thoughts YOUR way...double time!!
Posted by on 10/24 at 12:08 PM
Christie, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I just spotted what I believe to be an updated photo of you and little Roman in the “Member’s Album.” It must be recent because Roman has grown so much, not to mention the fact that your hair appears quite long and so silvery and pretty! I hope I’m right and haven’t somehow managed to have missed it before now.
Posted by on 01/05 at 03:41 PM
Wow, lulubell, You are so observant! It’s looks pretty updated to me.
If you recall, Roman and my little honey boy #2, Owen, were born on the same day. That puts them at about 5 1/2 months, which is about how old little Roman looks in the picture.
Christie~ He’s gorgeous! And you look fantastic too! Your hair is so pretty and I really like it longer too!
Posted by on 01/05 at 04:13 PM
Wow Lulubell you are good! Happy New Year to you too and to everyone! I have been lurking in here again after a long time without checking in and I just didn’t know where to start commenting, so much has been happening and I’m definitely “out of the loop”.
But I DID manage to pop in a recent picture of Roman and I taken on Christmas day - he’s holding his loot from Santa; feeding spoons and a toothbrush (a very practical Santa!)
I hope you and everyone have had a wonderful festive season, I will continue to lurk around for a while and check out the updates and all our new members!
Posted by on 01/05 at 04:33 PM
Oh thanks so much Aziza, I’m enjoying the longer hair too
I hope Owen and your family had a wonderful first Christmas with him!
Posted by on 01/05 at 04:36 PM
Hi Christie!
I just joined the group today (Feb.17,2010). I don’t know exactly how old your last picture is, but as a fellow going gray member I just wanted to say that I think your hair looks very nice. The cut is very flattering and your gray hair is NOT the first thing I noticed. (I noticed your son’s hair first.)
In my humble opinion, the right cut and keeping yourself at a healthy weight (which you have obviously done) makes gray hair as attractive as any other color.
Congratulations on your newest family member and on looking great!
Melody

Hi Melody, thanks for your lovely comments
and I agree with you, gotta take the holistic approach when it comes to your appearance(and most things in life too).
Have you got any photos in yet? (You may have noticed us gals here love having a sticky at how everyone else wears their grays!)
Thanks again,
Christie
