Good-bye Silver Brick Road...

Sometimes good ideas happen at bad times. And the NYC Silver Sisters Event falls into that category. The uncertainty with the economy, personal priorities, and other individual reasons prevented many of you from going off to see the Wizard. As we did not reach our attendance goals, we must cancel the NYC Silver Sisters Event.

But first, I’d like to thank the enthusiastic supporters who signed up immediately for it. I value your commitment to all we are doing here at GGLG.

I also want to thank the wonderful speakers, models, stylists, makeup artists and photographers who volunteered their time, talent and expertise to be here for you. Because they, too, believe in this “silver revolution,” and all GGLG is doing to encourage it. And a big thanks to so many of the top companies in the beauty world who were willing to donate goody bag products and prizes.

Since May 1st was our deadline for both event and hotel registration, however, I had to evaluate the numbers attending against the total cost of the event. Had registration been higher, I could have moved forward with confidence, allowing people to register right up to the last minute. But now it’s time to step back, click our ruby slippers, and return to what this site is all about -- providing the best information and inspiration mingled with a lot of lively chat.

And so all registration fees will be refunded, prizes will be returned, and Oz will head over the rainbow for much needed R&R.

Keep checking back with GGLG because we have new updates and stories planned for you, chat all you want in the Café Gray, but kindly do not submit pictures or other forms of correspondence until my return.
