Louann, I love that head piece. Totally batty

You’d think having partially or totally gray hair would be fright enough, but Halloween always brings out the kid in us. It’s interesting how people either covered their gray or went with the flow. Here are a few shots of our “Boo-Do’s!”
Sallee’s a Glam Ghoul, with a very interesting Mr. Batman-Muscleman. Hmmmm, what’s brewin’ in your witch’s broth, Sallee?
Who shot the sheriff? Our own Lisa, Newbie2. Hiding her silver under a 10-gallon hat. Pretty cute cowgal!
Elizabeth’s a campy, vampy gypsy with bangles on her arms, rings on her fingers, and a little tiny stud on the side of her nose.
Louann went a little batty on Halloween, showing some great silver swaths along with a bevy of bats on her headband.
Diana did her best witch imitation in a cobwebby-dress and “electrified” (hot rollers) hair. But, alas, couldn’t get rid of her basket of goodies.
OK, everybody. I know this was a spur-of-the-moment story, actually thought of on Halloween. But next year we all want to see more Scare-y Silvers! Boo!
Louann, I love that head piece. Totally batty

Diana, I love the drama of your hair against the all black outfit. I have to disagree with the premis in ‘Fall Fashion Picks for Gray Hair Beauties’ that black is boring. I love how my hair looks when I wear all black, it really makes the silver stand out. By the way, did you end up eating all the Halloween goodies since you couldn’t give them away? (I know I did!)

Diana, you do look fabulous, your hair is gorgeous and the dress just accentuates it all.
Louann, you are one of a kind, no doubt about it.
Lisa, the hat is bigger than you!! Were you at a party?
E. I don’t think you could look bad if you tried. Great getup, Ms. Vampire.
The hunky batman is a friend who does the Pageant every year with me. Makes me look good, huh?

Uh, Dede, the hair is gone. Nah, it’s just neck-length now and more layered. Actually, it doesn’t look all that different. Just much more manageable.
Sharon—I agree—nothing like black with gray hair! I never feel like a black-and-white photo! Still, it IS fun to experiment with color, and I think that was Teresa’s point.
I hope everybody’s planning their costume for next year!!! I want to see a few Silver-Bo-Peeps, Silver Red-Riding-Hoods, Silver Tinkerbells. . . gee, can ya tell I missed the kids???

Ahhh shoot - I wish I had taken a picture on Halloween. I am usually a witch, but as a staff we decided to be construction workers this year, as our campus is under modernization and we are under constant construction. This year would have been the perfect time for me to be a witch with my all silver/black hair!
It was funny - as I was walking down one of the corridors, one of the construction crew said under his breath, “I guess we should have dressed up as teachers!”
I have to ask the others that have completed their transition...is your hair much healthier? I have gone nearly 7 weeks since my last hair cut, and other than the fact that it has grown out, my hair doesn’t ‘feel’ as if it needs to be cut. Gone are the constantly split dry ends...and my hair always feels so healthy. Best thing I ever did was give up my coloring! Especially for my hair!

Having fully transitioned I have to say my hair has never been so healthy feeling and looking. I had my last cut 7 months ago and I don’t have split or dry ends at all.

Hi Karen, my hair is much healthier than it was when I colored it. It still gives me fits every now and then but overall, it’s in great condition, at least that’s what all the hairdressers that have cut my hair since it’s been natural always tell me.
Diana, I’m already thinkin’ about next years costume....

Yup, did. And I couldn’t be happier. Have to credit Carmine Minardi for doing this. Any of you guys coming to the New York event should really consider booking an appointment!

Robert Mitchum, eh? Beats Toto.
Actually, I think most Newbies-in-waiting would think it’s from eternity to gray!

So, Louann, how’s the thinking coming? Anything yet?
Posted by on 11/10 at 02:40 PM
What are you thinking about? coloring? not coloring?
Posted by on 11/10 at 02:58 PM
Hey all, just found this today. You guys look great! Yeah, my hat was ridiculously huge--it’s my boyfriend’s, genuine 10 gallon from Calgary. But I just had overnight to throw something together--my co-workers really wanted us all to dress up.
My hair feels healthier than ever but not sure how long I should go without a trim. Going on a cruise in 4 weeks (!!!) and not sure if I should cut a little first or let it go. Works of wisdom, gray and graying sisters?? I see Sharon says 7 months without a cut, so I’ve got a way to go before that, but my hair has no curl so I’m not sure I can pull that off.
Posted by on 11/10 at 04:56 PM
me??? well even without color i cut about every 6 weeks!!
i am trying to think of something other than the wizard of oz...i am still thinking ...it’s just that i like the whole munchkin thing…
oh well…
ps
went to the gray is the new blonde site for tee shirts...THER IS NOT ONE GRAY HAIR modeling these tees...what the heck!!! someone needs to alert their sales rep or whatever it would be like asking a guy to model bra’s
uh oh i am starting to digress ...

Rolling on floor laughing. Louann, you are tooo funny. You just wait, you guys. When I finally get OUR tee-shirts done, there WILL be a gray haired model. Submit your pictures, please. Oh, I forgot. You already have!

I look pretty witchy all the time anyway, so I didn’t dress up at Halloween.
